A Spike in Broken Oral Appliance Reports Raises Questions

A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine has found a significant increase in adverse event reports for oral appliances used to treat obstructive sleep apnea. The reports, which are filed with the FDA's MAUDE database, show a 10.1-fold increase in reports between 2024 and 2025 compared to the preceding four years.

ICER Report Evaluates Clinical Value of New Narcolepsy Type 1 Treatment

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) has published a final evidence report on oveporexton, a novel orexin receptor 2 agonist for narcolepsy type 1 (NT1). The drug received a B+ rating compared to no treatment and a C++ rating against active comparators. ICER suggests a benchmark price of $50,400 to $59,400 per year for the therapy, which has since gained FDA approval.
