The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) has partnered with Association Headquarters, a full-service association management company, to support its mission and certificants. This new partnership is designed to help the organization grow and advance the sleep health profession.

New Management Firm Selected

The BRPT has chosen Association Headquarters as its new professional management firm, effective June 15, 2026. This partnership is intended to support the organization's mission, certificants, and long-term growth. The BRPT issues the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) designation, as well as the Certification in Sleep Health (CCSH) and other professional certificates.

Leadership Transition

The selection of Association Headquarters follows a competitive review process by BRPT leadership. As part of the transition, MaryBeth Kurland will assume the role of executive director, succeeding James Magruder who is retiring from the BRPT at the end of June. Kurland joins the BRPT with nearly 30 years of association management experience, including over 15 years working with credentialing organizations.

Minimizing Disruption

The BRPT's staff remains in place as employees of Association Headquarters, a move intended to leverage deep BRPT-specific knowledge and minimize disruption to day-to-day operations. In addition to current staff, financial services, web, marketing, and technology services will be centralized under Association Headquarters.

Partnership Goals

The partnership between the BRPT and Association Headquarters aims to provide enhanced responsiveness, expanded resources, and streamlined processes for BRPT credential holders. The management firm will work closely with the BRPT's board of directors and volunteer leaders to advance strategic priorities, strengthen industry partnerships, and grow the organization's impact across the sleep health profession.

Quotes

Steve Glinka, MPH, RPSGT, president of the BRPT, says, "This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for the BRPT. We evaluated partners who not only understood the mechanics of certification board management, but who genuinely shared our passion for helping our certificants advance the sleep health profession.
